ALL ON 4 IMPLANTS

How It Works:
Two implants are placed vertically in the front of the jaw.

Two implants are placed at an angle in the back to maximize bone contact and avoid anatomical structures like sinuses or nerves.

In many cases, a temporary fixed prosthesis can be placed on the same day of the surgery—allowing patients to leave with functional teeth.

After healing (3–6 months), the temporary teeth are replaced with a stronger, permanent prosthetic arch.

ALL ON 6 IMPLANTS

The All-on-6 technique uses six dental implants to support a full arch of fixed teeth, offering more strength and stability than traditional methods.

This approach is ideal for patients with sufficient bone density and provides improved load distribution, especially in the back of the jaw. With a strong foundation, it ensures long-term function, enhanced comfort, and a natural appearance.

All-on-6 is often recommended for those seeking a durable, permanent solution with a higher level of support.

WHAT NOT TO DO AFTER DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY?

DO NOT SMOKE OR VAPE

Nicotine significantly restricts blood flow to the gums and bone, which are crucial for the healing process after dental implant surgery. Smoking or vaping can prevent the implant from properly fusing with the jawbone (a process called osseointegration), leading to a higher risk of infection, implant failure, and long-term complications. Even occasional smoking during the healing phase can disrupt recovery. For the best results, it is strongly advised to completely avoid smoking or vaping for at least 2 weeks after surgery — or even permanently, if possible.

AVOID ALCOHOL

Avoid alcohol after dental implant surgery because it can interfere with prescribed medications, including antibiotics and pain relievers, reducing their effectiveness or causing unwanted side effects. Alcohol also dehydrates the body and weakens the immune system, both of which are crucial during the healing process. In addition, drinking alcohol may increase swelling and prolong bleeding at the surgical site. To ensure proper recovery and reduce the risk of complications, it is best to avoid alcohol for at least 3 to 7 days following the procedure — or as long as your dentist or surgeon recommends.

DO NOT TOUCH THE SURGICAL AREA

Do not touch the surgical area with your fingers or tongue, as this can introduce harmful bacteria and increase the risk of infection. The area around a dental implant is very sensitive and needs time to heal without disturbance. Even gentle poking can irritate the tissue, cause bleeding, delay healing, or lead to complications such as implant failure. It may be tempting to check the site, but keeping it undisturbed is one of the best ways to ensure a smooth recovery. Let the area heal naturally and follow your dentist’s instructions carefully.

DO NOT EAT HARD, CRUNCHY, OR SPICY FOODS

Do not eat hard, crunchy, or spicy foods after dental implant surgery, as they can irritate or even damage the healing area. Foods like nuts, chips, raw vegetables, or crusty bread can put pressure on the implant site, potentially dislodging the blood clot or affecting the stability of the implant. Spicy foods may cause a burning sensation and inflame the sensitive tissue around the surgical area. To support proper healing, stick to soft, lukewarm foods like soups, mashed potatoes, yogurt, and smoothies for at least a few days after the procedure — or until your dentist gives the go-ahead to return to a normal diet.

DO NOT BRUSH DIRECTLY ON THE IMPLANT SITE

Do not brush directly on the implant site during the initial healing period. The area is sensitive and can be easily irritated or injured by direct contact with a toothbrush. Instead, be gentle when cleaning your mouth and use a soft-bristled toothbrush to carefully brush the surrounding teeth. Avoid applying pressure to the surgical site. Good oral hygiene is important for healing, but it must be done carefully to avoid disrupting the healing tissue or causing bleeding. Your dentist may also recommend rinsing with saltwater or a specific antimicrobial mouthwash to help keep the area clean without brushing it directly.
